Certifications schemes on compliance with sustainability criteria are essential for the market ramp-up of green hydrogen. GIZ and SAP are cooperating to investigate the digitalization potential of green hydrogen certification processes in Europe and developing countries. This cooperation between GIZ and SAP is part of the “H2Uppp – International Hydrogen Ramp-up Programme” of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), which promotes projects and market development for green hydrogen in selected developing and emerging countries as part of the National Hydrogen Strategy. The focus of the initial phase of the cooperation between GIZ and SAP was on the in-depth analyses of certification requirements of green hydrogen certification schemes and on how these requirements could be translated into software. The renown consulting company Fichtner conducted the in-depth analyses on certification requirements.
Objective: Presentation of the results of the analyses conducted by GIZ and SAP. SAP will present digital solution(s). The results are relevant to the whole green hydrogen market, e.g. public sector entities involved in green hydrogen certification and private sector companies along the green hydrogen value chain. The workshop will provide guidance and orientation on the topic of green hydrogen certification. Furthermore, general findings on software architecture and a possible digital solution for green hydrogen certification will be presented.
